Inspiration for the design:

The inspiration for this design comes from the month of May and the beginning of spring. Spring connotes saplings, greenery, and blooming flowers, which while not the main focal point make subtle appearances in the design. A key source of inspiration is the Mercatus AAPI directory itself. A variety of products from the directory are featured in the design to showcase the diverse lineup of products a person could purchase to enhance their lives and support the AAPI community, specifically the businesses listed in the AAPI directory.

About the designer:

Jay King is a graphic designer located in Portland, Oregon. A maximalist when it comes to design, she loves to use all the colors of the rainbow in making fun, cute, and colorful designs. Currently finishing up her B.F.A in Graphic Design at Portland State University, Jay is set to graduate in June 2022. Much of her work is centered around UI/UX design and illustrative layouts, as she most enjoys working with digital mediums. Nevertheless, she works in all aspects of design, from branding to advertisements to coding. Her website is www.jayriverking.com.
